DESCRIPTION:On October 15\, 2018 at 19.00 the Russian Cultural Centre will host the opening of a charity exhibition-sale of paintings of the Greek hagiographer and spiritual paintings’ artist Alexandros Kayas. \nThe exhibition of Alexandros Kayas will take place in Cyprus for the first time. Among the many exhibitions of the artist can be highlighted exhibitions held in the CIS countries: in 2012 in Gallery “Golden Mile” in Moscow\, in 2013 in the museum “Spiritual Treasures of Ukraine” of Kiev. In 2015 in Νational Museum of History and Culture of Belorussia called “On Mount Athos”\, during which the artist was awarded by the Metropolitan Pavel of Minsk. Also\, in 2015 the exhibition of the artist’s works took place in InterContinental Hotel\, Kiev.

SUMMARY:The Sea Within (Art)
DESCRIPTION:The Municipality of Limassol in collaboration with BPRarts Cultural Management and the support of the Ministry of Education and Culture is presenting the exhibition The Sea Within at the Limassol Municipal Arts Centre Apothikes Papadaki. The exhibition will be co-curated by Catherine Louis Nikita and Sylia Panayiotidou and is organised with the support of the French Embassy and the French Institute of Cyprus. \nThe core theme of the exhibition is the Sea\, partly focusing on the idea of the Pier\, both acting as symbols beyond their physical substance. In visual arts\, literature and poetry\, Nature often represents human emotions\, heroes’ characters\, esoteric philosophical debates. Nature is not only around us\, but also deep within us\, directly connecting the physical world with abstract and intangible concepts\, such as our human consciousness. \nThe sea is paralleled with life\, the innermost depth of the unconscious\, the mind\, the beginning\, the end\, the unknown; the pier acting as a manmade (un)breakable bond with the land\, with security. A transitional point\, a place outside our spacetime. This exhibition suggests that we meet in this other place. During transit\, as in a pier\, the visitor is invited to navigate in potential spaces between poetry\, dream and illusion. Between earth\, sky and sea. It is also called upon to question the permanence and sensitivity of the world and the status of the passage of our own existence. \nThe artworks presented aim at creating a visual map of experiences\, views and feelings on this discussion. DESCRIPTION:Within the celebration of its 16 years of operation and offering\, the Pancyprian Antileukemia Association ZOE co-organizes with the Community Police a feast of life for our little friends at the Acropolis Park on the 21st of October 2018 from 11am to 6pm. \nOur little friends will be entertained by participating in various activities such as games\, handicrafts etc. Games are provided by the community police and include inflatables\, boats\, remote-controlled cars and horses.\nThey will also be available for purchase food\, juices and water.\nIt’s a chance for our little friends to learn about the purpose of volunteerism and the actions they can participate in. At the same time they will actively help to enhance the mission of the Pancyprian Antileukemia Associtaion ZOE. \nAll proceeds will enhance the services and programs that we provide for FREE to people who suffer from leukemia and other haematological diseases.
