DESCRIPTION:Fengaros Music Village returns to the village of Kato Drys this summer from the 23rd to the 28th of July\, providing arts education through a series of music and theater workshops. The workshops will take place daily during the morning and afternoon hours\, filling the traditional Cypriot village with music and creativity. Attendees will be able to choose from nine workshops taught by industry professionals with expertise in fields ranging from jazz and popular music\, to film scoring\, to acting\, and to non-western musical traditions. This year’s instructors will include artists from Cyprus\, Spain\, Greece\, USA and Germany. Participating in Fengaros Music Village will expose attendees to a new network and community of artists. Now in its seventh edition\, the event has become an institution and is one of the most important meetings on the island for musicians from Cyprus and abroad. \nThroughout the years\, Fengaros Music Village has functioned as the birthplace of many musical and artistic collaborations and projects. In recent years\, participants have gone on to accomplish several music releases\, numerous festival and concert performances in Cyprus and abroad\, not to mention access to a nurturing networking pool of music and arts creatives based in Cyprus. Each year\, a group of student participants form an ensemble under the guidance of the resident artist\, and performs as the opening act of Fengaros Festival\, an international open air music festival which takes place after Fengaros Music Village. \nThe aim of Fengaros Music Village is to foster productive knowledge and idea exchange between artists of varied backgrounds\, including workshop instructors and participants alike. Each evening free concerts are available to the public followed by jam sessions in the village’s cafe. DESCRIPTION:The Villagers of Ioannina City return to DownTown Live in Nicosia for a single performance on Friday\, 6th of March. \nVillagers of Ioannina City\, one of the leading Greek heavy rock bands\, comes from the mountains of Epirus. Their are deeply influenced by Greek nature and cosmic phenomena and infuse their unique brand of heavy psychedelic rock with folk instruments such as bagpipes\, flutes and\, didgeridoo. \nWith their inspired mixture between Black Sabbath and Tool with the traditional instruments and scales from the Greek rich musical past\, they created a blend meant to strike an impression both locally and internationally. \nSince their debut album “Riza” in 2014 they toured all over Greece and brought their music out to many European cities (Berlin\, Amsterdam\, Barcelona\, London\, among others). Throughout the last years performed in carefully selected shows in Greece\, featuring a vast production with impressive light show and grandiose stage settings\, with highlights their open air sold out shows in Athens 2015 and 2019 with more than 6000 attendance each. \nIn the meantime\, the foundations for the “Age Of Aquarius” were laid in absolute secrecy. 5 years in the making is not an easy feat to stay hidden\, but VIC did manage to keep it under wraps until the autumn of 2019 when all preparations were completed. \nThe new album “Age Of Aquarius” is exactly what the title implies\, a whole new era of creation and experimentation\, sonically and lyrically\, setting up a journey through space and time. \nFor more info call: 99810011

Sakis got his nickname from the late great Louisiana Red\, who called him “Greek Stevie Ray Vaughan Jr” and later on\, by the great Greek Bluesman\, Nick Dounoussis. \nOn 2014\, after playing on several bands\, he started his “Solo – Artist” project named «SD Power Trio» with his brother\, Fotis Dovolis on Bass\, and Nick Kalivas on the Drums. Combining the fundamentals of Blues with a more aggressive and modern sound\, the band is often referred as a Heavy Blues band. They are also known for their powerful shows and high energy stage appearance\, elements that keep the audiences fully satisfied.\nBeside the several shows in Greece\, the trio performed on some of the most popular EU Blues festivals like Suwalki Blues Festival in Poland\, North City Jazz & Blues Fest etc. \nSince May 2018\, Sakis is a member of the Grooveyard Records NY\, USA. DESCRIPTION:‘Triptycho Ensemble’\, a unique combination of trio in Cyprus\, that consists o guitar\, viola and flute\, will perform at Technopolis 20\, on Saturday\, 22nd of February at 7:30pm. \nThe trio was formed in 2019 by three professional musicians the Greek Cypriot-Vasilios Avraam (guitar)\, the Turkish Cypriot-Sinem Sadrazam (viola) and the French-Virginie Bove (flute). Their aim is to present to the Cypriot public a special and rare repertoire\, original written works for flute-viola-guitar that were never played before. \nThe programme will include Grand Trio Concertant op.30 by Francesco Molino from Classical period\, the Trio op. 84 by Joseph Franz Moser from Romantic period and the Color Pastel by Máximo Diego Pujol from 20th century. \nEntrance: 10 euro\nReservations are necessary at 70002420 (calls only).\nWith the support of Stelios Philanthropic Foundation. \nA few words about the musicians\nVirginie Bove is the flute player. She had the opportunity to study with some brilliant flutists in France and abroad\, including M. Beaucoudray\, M. Debost\, M. Dufour\, C. Lefèbvre\, P. Dumail\, P. Bernold and G. Alirol. She completed her studies attaining first prizes from the Conservatoire of Paris and of Saint-Maur and won in parallel several national competitions. In 1999\, she had her debut as a soloist by performing Lipkin’s Flute Concerto\, European Premiere. Between 1995 and 2000\, she was the Principal Flutist of Paris Sorbonne Symphony Orchestra under the direction of J. Grimbert and performed in many venues in Europe and in United States of America. Since 2005\, she is the Sub-Principal Flute player in the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. \nSinem Sadrazam is the viola player. She completed her bachelor degree in 2007 at Hacettepe University Ankara Conservatory in Turkey\, with the tutoring of Prof. Feza Gökmen. She holds Master of Art degrees from University of Music and Dramatic Arts\, Graz (Austria) chamber music by the lectures of Prof. Stephan Goerner and viola from Prof. Christian Euler. She participated with Hacettepe Academic Orchestra\, Spanish National Youth Orchestra\, Norwegian National Youth Orchestra\, Mediterranean Youth Orchestra\, Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra\, Con Fuoco Chamber Orchestra (Austria)\, Erzgebirgische Philarmonie\, Aue (Germany) and Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. Since 2013 she has been living in Cyprus where she is teaching viola at the Near East University and she is a member of the Presidential Symphony Orchestra. \nVasilios Avraam is the guitar player. He studied classical guitar at Ferenc Liszt Conservatory in Debrecen (Hungary)\, under the supervision of István Adrovicz. He continued his guitar studies at the National Conservatoire of Region in Strasbourg (France) under the supervision of Pablo Márquez and at the Academy of Music in Bratislava (Slovakia) under the supervision of Jozef Zsapka\, where he got his doctoral degree Artis Doctor in classical guitar. In Hungary in 1998 he won the First Prize of the first national guitar competition. He gave concerts in Hungary\, Germany\, France\, Slovakia\, Cyprus\, he played at several classical guitar festivals\, as the Zempléni Festival (Hungary) at the Festival of Europe in Mâcon (France)\, at the International Music Festival in Clermont-Ferrand (France)\, at the 5th Festival des Musiques Rares Musiques Dérangées in Mâcon (France) and several times he was invited to the Spring Festival of Eger (Hungary). He played with the State Orchestra of Cyprus\, with Cantus Agriensis Choir\, with Polyfonia Choir\, several times with the Symphonic Orchestra of Eger and several times with the music group Musica Aulica in Hungary and in France. From 2001 till 2009 Vasilios Avraam was a guitar teacher at several music schools in Hungary where he was also the artistic director of the classical guitar festival in the Northeastern Region of Hungary. At the time he is guitar teacher at state music school in Nicosia.
