										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Higher Education in Cyprus is thriving in the last 20 years.</p>
<p>Universities, colleges and other Higher Education institutions operating in Cyprus, provide educational programs that basically cover all the industries of the professional market.</p>
<p>At the moment, there are three public universities; The University of Cyprus, The Cyprus University of Technology and the Open University of Cyprus. Additionally, there are five private universities; the European University, Frederick University, University of Nicosia, Neapolis University and University of Central Lancashire in Cyprus.</p>
<p>Furthermore, there are several other public higher education institutions, which do not possess the university status such as the Mediterranean Institute of Management (MIM) functioning under the Ministry of Labor and the Welfare and Social Insurance which offers academic postgraduate programs of study in Business and Public Administration.</p>
<p>Moreover, there are 43 Private Institutions of Higher Education in total, registered with the Ministry of Education and Culture, which offer academic undergraduate and postgraduate programs. All of their programs are evaluated and accredited by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation.</p>
<p>Taking everything into account, there are widely recognized institutions in Cyprus, renowned for their excellent educational programs, which they reshape the critical thinking of students and fully prepare them to enter their professional career with the best possible prospects.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Private schools are quite advanced in Cyprus.</p>
<p>All Private School Institutions are approved and directly monitored by the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Cyprus.</p>
<p>Children may attend private Pre-Primary schools after the age of 4 8/12.<br />
The Pre-Primary and Private Schools are being divided into three types; schools that follow the curriculum of the public Pre-Primary Schools, schools that follow at least the 2/3 of the public school’s curriculum, including other activities / subjects and finally, schools that follow a different curriculum that is however, being approved by the Ministry of Education and Culture.</p>
<p>All of the teaching staff are qualified members and are closely monitored by the Ministry of Education and Culture officers, in order to ensure that the high quality of the education is maintained.<br />
The tuition fees are in accordance with the policy of each institution.</p>
<p>As stated by the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture, there are 82 Pre-Primary and Primary Schools in Nicosia, 51 in Limassol, 29 in Larnaca, 6 in Paphos and 3 in Famagusta.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Cyprus Educational System offers high level education at all stages.</p>
<p>Pre-Primary State | Primary Education | Secondary Education | Higher Education</p>
<p>The official language taught is Greek but from the first grade of primary education the English language is being studied as well.</p>
<p>The education in Cyprus starts at Pre-Primary stage for all children between the ages of 4 8/12 – 5 8/12. The sole purpose of this stage is to smoothly introduce children to the ideals of education and initiate their mental development through the familiarization with the system goals and schooling social environment. In addition, during the pre-primary stage, children start to cultivate their personality, their competences and build their self-confidence.</p>
<p>The second stage is the Primary Education and is mandatory for all children in Cyprus, after the age of 5 8/12. The primary education stage lasts 6 years. In Primary Education, the learning process is introduced, aiming to provide and develop all the skills needed for children in order to be able to create and secure the abilities that will enable them to pursue their dreams and goals.</p>
<p>The third stage is the Secondary Education, which consists of three years in High School and three years in Lyceum. This educational phase is between the ages of 12 until 18 years old. In the first three years, students in general are developing their skills in all areas of the education, discover which professional direction they want to follow and realize their future goals.</p>
<p>During the Lyceum period, students have the opportunity to select their major classes and get the basic knowledge required for their enrollment either in Higher Education or workforce. The aim of this stage is to make the students start improving their analytical and practical skills and to prepare them for their next steps in life.</p>
<p>It is noteworthy to mention that the educational system of Cyprus provides students, which are more into technical professions, the opportunity to attend Secondary Technical and Vocational Education, which will develop even more their technical skills and knowledge.</p>
<p>After secondary education, students may proceed further with their studies by attending public universities, private universities and colleges in Cyprus. The universities / colleges offer great variety of diploma and degree programs for almost all the professions. In addition, universities offer Master’s Degree, MBA and Doctoral Degrees.</p>
