Hollywood superstar Nicholas Cage stole the show during the press conference for his new film JiuJitsu which was filmed in Cyprus.

The press conference took place on Saturday at the Hilton Park conference room in Nicosia and all members of the cast including Nicholas Cage attended to give more details on the film and their experience while filming on the island.

According to the Hollywood superstar Nicholas Cage, JiuJitsu is a combination of science fiction and an action-packed genre which will surely wow the crowds which will go and see the film.

Nicholas Cage admitted that he was urged to make the movie due to the fact that he is a massive fan of the science fiction and martial arts and that being in a movie with so many exceptional talents in the martial arts “arena” is an exceptional experience for him and an enormous challenge for him.

Having being asked about the opportunity to work and experience Cyprus, Nicholas Cage said: “Cyprus has been a good spirit for me, I felt some good energy on the set I worked with a very good and very hard working crew who worked very fast, the people were extremely polite and helpful and I will definitely come back and make another movie here!”

The Cyprus Daily asked the cast members to describe Cyprus with one word one of the actors hilariously replied “HOT” which was greeted with a great sense of laughter and applauds from the press but Nicholas Cage replied with “Mythic” and revealed his wish to come back to the island one day.

The shoot is now at its halfway point and will continue (without Cage) for the next few weeks.

The movie features William Baldwin, Cypriot actor Christopher Greco, Marianne Rosset, Jeannine Kaspar, Zach Rose and Christal Web.

According to Altadium, Baldwin has appeared in over 70 productions including, Flatliners, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Internal Affairs, 30 Rock, Gossip Girl and the remake of Hawaii Five-0.

Altadium said the project was made possible due to the support from  The Initiative of Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency – Film in Cyprus (INVEST Cyprus).

“This has brought together the efforts of many production professionals from across the globe to Cyprus,” the announcement said.

“The main aim of the project is not only to create an entertaining and enjoyable film, but also to raise the profile of Cyprus in the world of cinema.”

PLOT SUMMARY:

Kate and her younger sister – Liz, arrive at a seaside resort. At the hotel, they realize that the hapless Liz has left her passport at the airport. The sisters quarrel. Liz stays in the hotel room while Kate goes out for dinner, alone.

At a bar, Kate meets a travel blogger – Michelle, and her buddies: a local entrepreneur – Andreas, and a tourist – Nick.

Andreas offers the two lovely ladies an unscheduled, impromptu ride on his tourist hot air balloon.

As the result of a freak accident, the wind carries the balloon far out to sea. Their cell phones are out of range, and the gas canisters won’t last long. If they ditch in the sea everyone will drown.

A thunderstorm is approaching, and sharks begin to circle in the water below, but that’s not all: unbeknown to Kate, back on land, her hotel apartment has been burglarized, and little Liz has become an unwanted “material witness.”
